This site is evolving, but it provides information about the business and the services I offer.

So what is Martinsonink?

First, let me introduce myself. I am Lauren Martinson, and I am a native of Huntsville, AL. I am a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Georgia. My career background is in traditional marketing, public relations, and content development (also known as writing!). I had the privilege of working for the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library for over a decade as communications director, and while I was there, I experienced the social media revolution up close and personal.

The concept for Martinsonink evolved out of my love for writing. I enjoy the challenge of crafting a compelling message that informs, influences, and engages others - and this is what social media is all about!

Martinsonink can write content for traditional marketing outlets such as websites, brochures, newsletters, press releases, sales letters, invitations, and catalogues.

Martinsonink can also help you grow your business by integrating social media marketing into your existing promotional efforts. I can:

1 Create a social media marketing plan specific to your business

2 Set up your social media toolbox (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and a blog are just a few options) and show you how to use the tools yourself

3 Create all the content for you, administer the plan, and monitor the feedback so you can keep on running your business!

"Whether you need a
social media marketing
plan complete with
virtual words or content
for old-school printed pieces, let me tell
your story and build
your business."

What is Social Media?

That is a great question! Social media is a phrase we hear a lot these days, but it can be hard to define. Basically, it is a website that not only gives you information, but allows you to share your thoughts on that information with others.

Social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn allow you to interact by adding friends, commenting on profiles, joining groups, and having discussions.

When well implemented, social media marketing can effectively connect your business to new customers and grow a community of loyal patrons. A good Facebook page, for example, is “sticky”—meaning that people will keep coming back when the content you offer is interesting and engaging. Social media is also a great way to showcase your specialty without heavily promoting yourself. It allows you to position your business as the “go to” source by offering content and value on a consistent basis. Ultimately, this will attract new customers and drive traffic to your business.

If you have a few social media tools set up but are not seeing the level of engagement and traffic you had hoped, or if you are thinking about using social media to promote your business but are not sure where to start, I can help!
